Publication Ethics

The publication ethics and standards adopted by Jurnal Inovasi dan Riset Pendidikan (JIRP) are guided by the principles and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). These guidelines serve as the foundation for all parties involved in the scholarly publishing process, including authors, editors, and reviewers, to maintain integrity, transparency, objectivity, and the quality of academic publications.

1. Authors

  • Authors must uphold academic integrity and ethical research conduct while understanding their responsibilities, as well as the risks and benefits associated with published research.

  • Authors must present their research findings honestly, accurately, and transparently without fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of data.

  • Manuscripts must comply with the writing guidelines and submission requirements established by JIRP, as specified in the journal template.

  • Submitted manuscripts must fall within the focus and scope of JIRP.

  • Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may influence the objectivity of their research or publication.

  • All individuals listed as authors must possess relevant expertise and have made substantial intellectual contributions to the research and preparation of the manuscript in the field of education.

  • If authors identify significant errors or inaccuracies in a submitted or published manuscript, they must promptly notify the journal editor and cooperate in the necessary correction, retraction, or other remedial actions.

  • Authors are prohibited from engaging in plagiarism, duplicate publication, or simultaneous submission of the same or substantially similar manuscript to multiple journals while the manuscript is under consideration by JIRP.

  • Authors may submit their manuscripts to another journal only after receiving official notification that the manuscript has been rejected or that the editorial review process at JIRP has been formally terminated.

2. Editors

  • Editors are responsible for accepting, rejecting, or requesting revisions to submitted manuscripts based on editorial evaluations and reviewer recommendations. Editors may consult with the Editor-in-Chief when making publication decisions.

  • Editors must conduct an initial assessment of each manuscript to evaluate its relevance to the journal's focus and scope, compliance with submission requirements, and originality.

  • Editors must handle all manuscripts fairly, objectively, and professionally, without discrimination based on authors' personal backgrounds, institutional affiliations, nationality, gender, or viewpoints.

  • Editors must select reviewers based on their expertise, qualifications, and relevance to the research field and subject matter of the submitted manuscript.

  • Editors must maintain the confidentiality of all information related to manuscripts and the review process and must not disclose such information to unauthorized parties.

  • Editors must avoid conflicts of interest in the decision-making process and ensure that all publication decisions are based on the scholarly quality of the manuscripts.

  • Editors are responsible for ensuring that editorial and peer-review processes are conducted transparently, objectively, and in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies.

3. Reviewers

  • Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of all information related to the manuscripts assigned to them and treat such documents as strictly confidential.

  • Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts objectively, independently, and professionally, considering their scholarly quality, research methodology, relevance, and contribution to the advancement of knowledge in the field of education.

  • Reviewers must ensure that all data sources, references, and scholarly works used in the manuscript are properly acknowledged and cited by the authors.

  • Reviewers should identify relevant previously published works that have not been cited in the manuscript and recommend additional references where necessary.

  • Reviewers must provide clear and objective evaluations supported by adequate scholarly arguments and evidence.

  • Reviewers should provide constructive feedback and practical recommendations to help authors improve the quality of their manuscripts.

  • Reviewers must complete the review process within the timeframe established by the editor or notify the editor if additional time is required.

  • Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and decline review assignments when circumstances may compromise their independence or objectivity.
