Screening for Plagiarism Policy
Jurnal Inovasi dan Riset Pendidikan (JIRP) screens all submitted manuscripts for text similarity using plagiarism detection tools, such as Turnitin, iThenticate, or equivalent software. Similarity checks are conducted during the initial editorial screening before peer review and may be repeated before publication.
The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20%, excluding the reference list and properly cited quotations. In addition, similarity from any single source should not exceed 5%. Similarity reports are evaluated comprehensively by the editorial team, taking into consideration the context of quotations, references, common terminology, and research methodology sections.
Manuscripts exceeding the acceptable similarity threshold may be returned to authors for revision or rejected, depending on the editorial evaluation. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism, including self-plagiarism and duplicate publication, will not be accepted for publication. If such violations are identified after publication, JIRP may issue a correction or retract the article in accordance with applicable publication ethics guidelines, including the principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Serious violations of publication ethics may be reported to the authors' affiliated institutions. JIRP also reserves the right to restrict or prohibit authors found guilty of misconduct from submitting manuscripts to the journal for a specified period, depending on the severity of the violation and the outcome of the editorial investigation.
